National Schoolarship Portal (NSP)

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a digital scholarship website that offers a variety of scholarships by the central government, state government and other government agencies. Many students in India are not able to affort the cost of higher studies due to financial challenges faced by their families. To help such talented and deserving students, the Government of India has stepped in to provide a level scholarship to all students irrespective of their socio-economic background. The National Scholarship Portal is an initiative of the Government of India to provide financial assistance to deserving students by providing those scholarships to pursue higher education and fulfil their dreams. The National Scholarship Portal hosts around 50 scholarships worth hundreds of crores for scholarship seekers registered on the platform. According to officials, the platform has so far helped the government implement and distribute scholarships worth more than INR 2,400 crore. The platform claims over 110 lakh applications, of which over 85 lakh applications are also verified.

What is the National Scholarship Portal?

The National Scholarship Portal has emerged as a major scholarship portal for online scholarships to available benefits under the many Scholarship Scheme for students and without having to face paperwork and finish paperwork. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a unique and simple platform to help students get the benefit of academic scholarship in an efficient and transparent manner. It is a one-stop solution, through which students receive various services such as application, receipt, processing, approval and delivery of various services. By offering a smart system for effective and speedy settlement of scholarships, the portal ensures direct delivery of funds to the beneficiary's account thereby avoiding any possibility of leakage. The National Scholarship Portal is taken as a mission mode project under the National e-Governance Plan (NGP).


What are the various scholarships that NSP offers?

Pre – Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities:- Students who have not yet given the matriculation exam or are in the class one to ten class, they will select the post metric scholarship scheme.

Post – Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities:- Those students who have given Matric exam and want to get scholarship for higher education, those students will select the Post Metric Scholarship Scheme.

How to fill Online National Scholarship Form 2020 – 2021

The application procedures to avail Scholarship Schemes for both Fresh cases and Renewals are given below.

Candidates have to register themselves on the Student Login portal, fill out the common application form, and provide their personal and academic details. After filling all the necessary details and completing the application form, you will be able to see a list of all the scholarships that you are eligible to apply.

Step 1: Log into the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)

👉Go to Official Website National Scholarship Portal

👉Candidate on the home page, Find the Student Login / New Registration and click on it

Step 2: Registration Yourself in NSP

👉You are not applying for a scholarship form you need to register yourself with the National Scholarship Portal.

👉Full all details in registration form in the necessary field in this section.

👉After entering all details and submitting the registration information, you will be provided 20 – digit Registration Number in your registered mobile number and Email-address.

Step 3: Logging into the National Scholarship Portal

👉Student click the login button and first time your post is you date of birth

👉Put your registration number and your password (Date of birth)

👉After submit Change your password (Password choose strong password like- name@123)

Step 4: Filling the National Scholarship Portal Application Form

👉After successful completing your registration and change your password than login and find and click Application Form, Fill properly Application Form.

👉Provide accurate personal details information and your bank account details.

Step 5: Uploading the Document in NSP

👉Such students whose fees are more than 50,000 rupees, they will have to upload all the documents asked on the website in National Scholarship Portal.

👉Students whose fees are less than 50,000 rupees are not required to upload any document on the website. Those students will attach all the documents to their school or college and submit them for verification.

Step 6: Verification Your document and Application

👉After filling the entire application online, print out the application and attach all the necessary documents and give it to your school or college for verification.

👉Now you do not need to do anything, now your application will be verified from school or college, after that your bank account scholarship money will come.

Some Important Notice

  1. Educational documents of student
  2. Student's Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch
  3. (Note: For pre matric scholarship scheme, where students do not have their own bank account, parents can provide their own account details. However, parents account number can only be used against scholarship applications for maximum two children.)
  4. Aadhaar number of the Student
  5. If Aadhaar is not available, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School
  6. Aadhaar Enrolment ID or Scanned copy of Bank passbook
  7. If Institute/School is different from domicile state of the applicant, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School
